Registration & Licensing
The Council provide Registration and License to Practitioners. The type of registration given depends on qualification level and nationality of practitioners.
Internship Training
The Council supervise and Coordinate Internship Training to Medical, Dental and Allied health practitioners. Also the council approves health training institutions.
Examination
The Council supervise and coordinate examination to Medical, Dental and Allied health practitioners before and after internship training.
CPD
The Council supervise and coordinate Continuing Professional Development(CPD) to Medical, Dental and Allied health practitioners which help in renewing licenses.
Malpractice Management
The Council have the legal authority and responsibility to monitor professional conduct and take action when a healthcare professional breaks rules, standards, or ethical codes

Application for Provisional Registration
Application for Provisional Registration to all interns who sat for the Pre-Internship Examination will be opened on 10th May, 2026 at 04:00 PM EAT
How to apply for provisional registration:-
- Login to your account
- Go to 'Internship' then 'My Application'
- Select Internship Center and submit
- Go to ‘Payment’ and generate control number then proceed with payment
- Application fee for Tanzanians is TZS 40,000 which is paid through NMB Bank/NMB bank agent, or Mobile Network Operators{e.g. M-PESA, TIGOPESA, AIRTEL MONEY, HALOPESA etc}
- And application fees for Non Tanzanians is USD 100 which is paid through Tanzania Commercial Bank(TCB)
NOTE:-
-
- For all interns wishing to do their internship training at Lugalo Military hospital, must upload introductory letter from Lugalo Millitary hospital.
- No change of internship center is allowed
- Once your application is approved you will login to your account and print online copy of provisional certificate and allocation letter; and use this online copy to report to your allocated internship center between 11th and 15th of May, 2026. The council will dispatch original provisional certificate and allocation letter to your respective internship centre.
- The Medical Council of Tanganyika wishes to inform all interns that they are not required to visit the MCT Office to collect their Provisional Certificates and Allocation Letter.
